Why is Collaboration Important?

The number one success factor in developing a strong relationship within the community is collaboration. I came across a great book that relates to my experience in an philosophical aspect called Organizing Genius: Secrets of Creative Collaboration. "In a society as complex and technologically sophisticated as ours, the most urgent projects require the coordinated contributions of many talented people". This idea was written in 1996 and still relates. Collaboration is an effective way for one to optimize their experiences and growth process as they join another in alignment with their purpose.

Last month, I experienced collaboration at its best with two significant churches that supply spiritual, mental, and physical nourishment within their communities. Christian Life Center, CLC is a church in Riverdale that does so much for their community by providing abundant physical and spiritual nourishment. The Mahanaim Church of Assemblies of God is located in College Park. MC has a massive youth ministry that Loves serving their community in every way possible. Loving God and Loving each other is the foundation of both churches.

Collaboration lightens the load for single organizations and maximize their impact of their service to the community. I will use community carwash as an example for demonstrating the optimization of collaboration. A community carwash consisted of a free food, spiritual resources, games, and minor health screenings. This enables each individual or organization to focus on one significant contribution in serving the community. The church's youth ministry handled the carwash due to their large numbers in youth CM. Pastor Ben from CLC has solid resources for food and goods that families can take home for physical and spiritual nourishment. The health screenings were provided by a certified nurse from CM which informed families of their current body weight, body mass information, and blood pressure. The car wash was done with rotating members of each church as they congregated and shared the joy with collaboration. Spiritual resources and prayer were distributed from both churches in unity as families and drivers stopped by.

It was also behind the scenes that mattered even more. The congregation of two completely diverse churches and communities. Both youth ministry leaders were sharing their retreat experiences and developing a significant connection with each other. This is where Greatness collides for the longevity of both entities that optimizes their Legacies as well. Now both youth ministries will grow strong with a broader support channel that allows them to optimize their capabilities in service.

There is always room for optimization in developing strong relationship building skills. Collaboration enables one to do so. It's best to plan who is contributing and what they are bring to the and what is already mastered while being able to strengthen their community in the areas of experience they may lack.

This collaboration with the two churches increased the impact of the various services provided at the community carwash. I was Truly overwhelmed with Joy as the ministries congregated to developed new relationships that will last for a Lifetime. Pastor Ben and Pastor Salvador have paved a new way for generations to come for both ministries. It is Truly a Blessing to have been in the presence of these community pioneers.

Once again, collaboration has proven to optimize the impact of serving the community for generations to come. The most amazing aspect about this collaboration is the diversity and barriers being broken. Two religious organizations from different backgrounds are able to congregate in service and worship as a community. Collaboration goes a long way for organizations, individuals, businesses, and Life in general. Contact me for more information on collaborative strategies and community service project planning. Thank you and have a Blessful day!!!
